On July 20, 2025, it was time again: ignition on, everyday life off – before many of us headed off for our well-deserved summer vacation, the 996 Drivers Club set off on its last big drive before the summer break. And what can we say: It was simply a dream.
This time, we were inspired by none other than our friend and 996 enthusiast Stefan Merkle of Soul Drives—the creative mind behind the legendary Werk 96 Classic video, which gives goosebumps to more than just die-hard fans. Stefan, who usually stages supercars and hypercars for renowned manufacturers, designed a phenomenal route for us through the Black Forest: past crystal-clear lakes, deep green forests, mountainous panoramas, and countless curves—roads tailor-made for the 996. And this is exactly where our vehicles feel most at home: when dynamics, character, and performance blend with the landscape.
Naturally, it was once again in typical early-bird mode—when the roads are empty, the senses are alert, and the drivers' hearts are open. It was a tour full of energy, driving pleasure, and that special adrenaline that only true enthusiasts understand.
After a shared brunch, some club members continued on to the Heizr Club, which also provided a real highlight on this Sunday. New faces, fresh conversations, exciting renovations – that's exactly what makes our community so special. Every trip brings new people, new perspectives, new emotions. And now we're looking back on almost a year of the Drivers Club – what a journey!
