Four unforgettable days in the heart of the Dolomites are behind us – the Mountain Run 2025 was far more than just a ride. It was an experience that took both man and machine to a whole new level.
With a total of 20 participants, 14 vehicles, and exclusively Porsche 996 models in a wide variety of configurations and modifications, we set off for one of the most impressive regions in Europe. The Dolomites revealed not only their majestic side but also their capricious nature: instead of sunshine, we were met with fog, rain, and cool temperatures. And yet – or perhaps precisely because of this – the journey became a special chapter in our Werk 96 story.
Our base was the outstanding Hotel Leitner, which welcomed us with generous hospitality, culinary delights, and an atmosphere like staying with friends. A special thank you goes to our guide Helmut and his family, who made these days so perfect.
Our route took us over legendary mountain passes like the Passo di Giau, Passo San Pellegrino, Passo Gibiana, and Passo Duran. The roads offered everything a driver could wish for: tight curves, breathtaking views, and the opportunity to rediscover their vehicle. Despite (or perhaps because of) the challenging conditions, everyone surpassed their own expectations. Confidence in the car, personal skill, and experience on wet asphalt – all of this resulted in a profound and intense driving experience.
Even the journey there via the Moorjoch pass in the Allgäu region was a highlight, as was the return trip home in small groups. The camaraderie, the exchange of ideas, the shared experiences – all of this made this mountain run truly special. Numerous testimonials and interviews will capture the participants' enthusiasm in the coming weeks.
And the best part: The dates for 2026 are already set. It all starts again in May and September – with new routes, new challenges, and familiar faces.
