Even the outward journey was a statement. Sporty, dynamic, powerful – exactly as our 996 was designed. Long curves, high speeds, changing road surfaces – and yet: absolute composure in the cockpit. The specially developed chassis worked brilliantly, the steering as precise as a scalpel, the transmission crisp, the propulsion explosive. Despite the full performance – a residual comfort that is almost unbelievable. Even after many hours behind the wheel: no fatigue, no tension. Just pure driving pleasure.
Berlin welcomed us with its typical urban flair – cobblestones, narrow alleys, and winding country roads outside the city. Once again, the 996 demonstrated its versatility. Whether in the city or the countryside, sporty or relaxed – the factory 96 conversion delivers in every discipline. The car blends with the road, becoming an extension of the driver – exactly as we intended.
The return trip was a demonstration of efficiency. Between 130 and 170 km/h, with short sprints – and yet we reached Stuttgart on just one tank of fuel. Average fuel consumption was 10.2 liters with a 4.3-liter displacement, 450 hp, and 8,000 rpm. A figure that even impressed us. It shows: for us, power and efficiency are not mutually exclusive, but the result of perfect coordination.
And then there was this moment. Berlin-Mitte. Lunchtime. Thousands of tourists. And yet: a photo in front of the Brandenburg Gate. Impossible for many – for us, just further confirmation of what drives us: passion, courage, willpower. Werk 96, in fact.
