At the beginning of August, we were once again able to experience what makes our work so special: customers who travel hundreds of kilometers to know their vehicle is in the best hands with us.
Bert, a member of our 996 Drivers Club, set off from Berlin to Stuttgart on Sunday, August 3rd. Three nights, three days, and a whole lot of passion for the 996 lay ahead of us.
Right on Monday, the 911 Carrera 996 model got down to business. Our specially developed Werk 96 suspension – with the perfect balance of residual comfort and maximum dynamics – was installed, measured, and registered. The matching spacers also ensured the perfect look.
And that's not all: The small brake upgrade provided noticeably more deceleration and stability. The GT3 throttle body added an additional 10-12 hp, more direct throttle response, and a touch more sound. And as a special highlight, we added our Factory 96 short shifter – shorter, crisper shifts that absolutely thrilled Bert. The combination of precise suspension, improved braking, more direct throttle response, a sporty sound, and short shift throws simply blew him away.
Between the workshop appointments, there was enough time to experience Stuttgart together. We visited the Porsche Museum, went out to dinner together, and had long conversations about performance, passion, and, of course, the 996. The personal encounter was just as valuable to us as it was to him.
On Wednesday, Bert set off home again. Halfway there, he received a message: "A difference like night and day – the chassis, the dynamics, the braking, the throttle response, and the crisp gearshifts. Simply fantastic!"
For us, the greatest confirmation is when a customer returns home not only satisfied, but enthusiastic – and the trip from Berlin was more than worth it.
Bert isn't the first to take this route. Back in 2024, we welcomed a 996 owner from Berlin to Stuttgart for five days. And at the end of September, we're expecting another special guest—this time from England. His Werk 96 Experience will also be featured in our blog.
